Councilmember Joshua Schaer to run for second term | People
We just got this announcement from Joshua Schaer's campaign manager:
Issaquah City Councilmember Joshua Schaer will run for re-election this November. Representing the citizens of Issaquah since 2008, Schaer has been proud to serve as Chair of the Council Transportation Committee and as a City representative to the Eastside Transportation Partnership, whose leadership oversees regional road and transit issues. He has also been a member of the Services and Operations, Sustainability, and Utilities, Technology, and Environment Committees.
Schaer drafted and sponsored an ordinance making Issaquah the first Eastside city to require recyclable and compostable food service packaging. Schaer brought together environmental and business leaders to minimize costs, reduce the need for landfills, and achieve passage of this historic legislation.
“Shaping the future of our community is a great honor,” said Schaer in announcing his decision to seek a second term. “I look forward to another four years of creating practical solutions, while continuing to advocate for fiscal responsibility.”
Schaer is endorsed by Issaquah City Council President John Traeger, Councilmember Tola Marts, former Councilmembers Maureen McCarry, David Kappler, and John Rittenhouse, and former Issaquah Arts Commissioner Barbara de Michele.
