Costume swap comes just in time for Halloween | Events
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Halloween is nearly here, which means your kids are probably asking for expensive new costumes to wear out on the big night. Sure, they could wear the costumes you bought last year or the year before that, but that just wouldn't be cool.
In an effort to help keep some money in your pocket while keeping your kids happy, Snoqualmie Valley Macaroni Kid is partnering with Issaquah's Small Threads and Adventure Kids Playcare to bring a costume swap to the city.
Not only does swapping costumes save money, but it's environmentally friendly, according to a news release.
Event organizers argue that if only half of the children who celebrate Halloween swapped their costumes, it would reduce annual landfill waste by 6,250 tons, equivalent to the weight of 2500 mid-size cars.
Here's more about the event:
Drop off your swap-able costumes at Small Threads during business hours the week of October 2nd – 8th. In exchange for your costume(s) you will be given a Swap Ticket to be brought back for the event on October 9th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. During the event, participants will also be treated to a 20% discount on all Small Thread merchandise; that’s right, you can swap and then shop! To sweeten the deal even more, Adventure Kids Playcare is opening an hour early and offering one free hour of childcare during the two hours of the swap. To receive this special offer, the Swap Ticket must be presented at time of drop-off and regular rates will apply for additional time.
